Groundworks
Shannon Valley was one of the first contractors in Ireland to adopt Topcon machine control. Nowadays the company has GPS machine mounted systems on 20+ of its dozers and excavators. Groundworks projects can be accurately carried out and overdig situations can easily be avoided. The technology allows better machine control during cut to fill or bulk dig operations, by communicating satellite positioning data, with a predetermined 3D model.
In its effort to strengthen the Shannon Valley’s position in the market and in order to meet the growing demand for heavy muck shifting equipment the Group purchased a brand new Hitachi 71 tonne ZX690LCH-6 excavator. The ZX690-6 was built to work reliably in challenging environments and thanks to up to 4m3 buckets, it is capable of completing bulk excavation jobs in a fast and efficient manner.
Each project is addressed individually at the time of award and strict procedures are in place to ensure site specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Inductions, Plant Certificates and Operative Training Certificates form a part of project’s Safety File.
